Ukrainian-origin defense technology company UFORCE has raised $50 million in a seed round led by Lakestar and Shield Capital, which has increased its valuation to over $1 billion and given it unicorn status.

As Bloomberg reported on Thursday, Ballistic Venture was also among the investors.

Overall, UFORCE unites nine Ukrainian companies, and its leadership includes former Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and board member and former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace.

The company's CEO is Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur Oleg Rogynskyy, who previously served as CEO of IT company People.ai.

Among UFORCE's main tasks are the development of autonomous systems, which include marine drones, strike UAVs and counter-drone platforms. One of the company's well-known developments is the Magura marine drone.

The article notes that UFORCE systems, including marine drones, strike UAVs and counter-drone platforms, have completed more than 150,000 missions during the war.
