Defense Forces receive Ptashka missile system with record-breaking range
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have received and are already actively using the Ukrainian-made Ptashka (Bird) drone, which has a record-breaking range, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported.
"The Ukrainian-made Ptashka attack quadcopter has been approved by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense for use by the Defense Forces and is already being actively used by defenders. It is equipped with a fiber-optic control channel and can perform combat missions at depths of almost 50 kilometers. This is currently the highest depth of engagement among all certified drones of this type," the Ministry of Defense said on its website on Thursday.
The new-generation Ptashka strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed for operation in intense combat conditions. It features a reinforced composite frame, high-performance electric motors, traction propellers, and a separate battery pack for stable operation. The drone’s design is balanced to perform necessary maneuvers in flight.
The Ptashka can perform missions day and night, in various weather conditions, and even in strong gusty winds. This drone’s payload is sufficient to destroy enemy infantry, firing positions, bunkers, vehicles, and lightly armored vehicles.
