An anti-UAV unit of Khyzhak brigade destroyed the Russian reconnaissance drone "Knyaz Veshchiy Oleg," which the enemy presents as resistant to damage, as well as ZALA, Lancet and Molniya-2 drones, First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department Oleksiy Biloshytsky has said.
"An anti-UAV unit of Khyzhak brigade destroyed the Russian reconnaissance UAV 'Knyaz Veshchiy Oleg' which the enemy positions as resistant to damage. This was the first recorded case for Khyzhak brigade of destroying a UAV of this type," he said on Telegram on Tuesday evening.
Biloshytsky said the UAV is of the fixed-wing type and is used for deep reconnaissance, fire adjustment and communications relay. "Due to the complexity of production and cost, 'Knyaz Veshchiy Oleg' is rarely seen in the combat zone and is not a massive UAV," he added.
In addition to "Vishchy Oleh" the unit also hit ZALA, Lancet and Molniya-2 drones, Biloshytsky said.
