Members of Volyn volunteer fire brigades join Ukrainian Red Cross Society volunteer efforts
Members of volunteer fire brigades in the Volyn region have joined volunteer activities within the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS).
"The Ukrainian Red Cross Society has expanded its ranks by 89 volunteers – members of volunteer fire brigades from Volyn region. Recently, 15 of them have already received volunteer identification cards and officially become part of the Red Cross movement," the Ukrainian Red Cross Society reported on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
People of different ages and professions joined the initiative, including educators, medical workers, engineers, community representatives, and members of the clergy.
This format of cooperation is taking place for the first time. The step strengthens the role of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in local communities, reinforces partnerships on the ground, and helps form a unified emergency response system.
In addition, with the support of the German Red Cross, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society handed over 25 mobile communication enhancement kits and portable charging stations to the units. The equipment will help increase the teams' operational autonomy and ensure stable communication during emergency response efforts in coordination with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
