Founding meetings of the Diaspora Alliance for Ukraine's Recovery have been held, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine said.

According to the ministry, the meeting was attended by Deputy Social Policy Minister Ilona Havronska; Special Representative for Ukrainians in the EU Ylva Johansson; Special Representative for Ukraine's Recovery Davide La Cecilia; Chair and President of the Ukrainian World Congress Paul Grod; Head of the Ukrainian World Congress Office in Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko; and Deputy Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Dejan Keserovic.

It is noted that 24 members and five partners from 10 countries have so far joined the Alliance – Ukraine, the United States, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Slovakia, Germany and Romania.

Havronska said the ministry was sincerely grateful to everyone who had already joined the Alliance, calling it a strong start. She said this was only the beginning, noting that millions of Ukrainians are abroad, millions remain internally displaced and hundreds of thousands have already returned. In such conditions, she said, it was crucial to preserve unity among Ukrainians regardless of country of residence and, through coordination, combine different experiences into a common development strategy.

As reported, the Diaspora Alliance for Ukraine's Recovery was initiated in 2025 following consultations organized by the IOM with the participation of more than 40 diaspora organizations from Europe and North America, and was presented at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 with the support of the governments of Italy and Ukraine. The Alliance is intended to turn global solidarity into coordinated, concrete and long-term support for Ukraine's recovery.
