Govt updates composition of Naftogaz supervisory board – Svyrydenko

The government has appointed a new composition of the supervisory board of Naftogaz Ukrainy based on the nomination committee’s submission, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko said.

"The selection took place in compliance with a full, open, competitive procedure – taking into account the professional merits of the candidates," Svyrydenko wrote in the Telegram channel.

The independent international members include Robert Sleszynski, Erik Rasmussen, Duncan Nightingale, and Tor Martin Anfinnsen. All of them are specialists with many years of experience in the energy sector, the Prime Minister noted.

Thus, Robert Sleszynski from Poland is an expert in corporate governance and energy, Erik Rasmussen from Denmark is an expert in energy and infrastructure financing, in particular at the EBRD, who worked on the reform of corporate governance of state-owned enterprises in Ukraine, including at NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy.

Duncan Nightingale from Canada is a specialist specializing in operational management of production and development of energy assets. He headed the Supervisory Board of PJSC Ukrnafta, in particular, he implemented OECD practices.

Tor Martin Anfinnsen from Norway – held senior positions in the Norwegian energy giant Equinor. As a current member of the Supervisory Board of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy, the expert ensures the continuity of management and implementation of European standards.

Ukraine is represented on the Supervisory Board by Anna Artemenko – Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, and Kostiantyn Marevych – State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (re-elected member of the Board).

"In parallel, we are completing the renewal of the supervisory boards of the entire energy sector – Centrenergo, Ukrainian Distribution Grids, Ukrenergo, Ukrhydroenergo, GTS Operator of Ukraine and others," Svyrydenko added.
