Ukraine will be ready to open all six EU negotiation clusters in few days – Zelenskyy
In a few days, Ukraine will be technically ready to open all six clusters for EU accession negotiations; however, not all European Union leaders are prepared to grant Ukraine this opportunity, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
"In literally a few days, Ukraine will be technically ready to open all six clusters. We are ready. But not all European Union leaders are. You know why, and who is blocking it. That is, not everyone is ready to give this opportunity to Ukraine," Zelenskyy told journalists on Monday.
The President’s statement follows reports from the Office of the President in late February indicating that Ukraine had completed the necessary technical steps, including roadmaps for the rule of law and national minorities. Despite this progress, the formal opening of the clusters remains subject to the unanimity principle within the EU Council. Ukraine’s leadership has set an ambitious goal to close all negotiation clusters by the end of 2026, aiming for a potential accession date as early as 2027.
