Zelenskyy on Middle East situation: our defense experience is in many ways indispensable, we are ready to share it
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, amid the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, stated Ukraine’s readiness to "share this experience."
"In the Gulf countries, which possess higher-quality air defense systems than our partners have provided us so far, and in greater numbers, they still do not intercept all ballistics. There are also Shaheds that the air defense in the region did not stop. Everyone now sees that our defense experience is in many ways indispensable. We are ready to share this experience and help those nations that assisted Ukraine this winter and throughout the war," he said.
The President urged Europe to provide itself with real strength and the capability to protect its sky, land, and sea from any type of attack. "To achieve this, it is necessary to build sufficient production volumes for air defense—both against drones and against ballistics. We are currently recording every change in the situation around Iran in detail. Ukrainian intelligence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—everyone is involved," he emphasized.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is coordinating with partners and noted that this chance for change in Iran must be used correctly.
"The Iranian people have long been effectively alone against violence, against the Iranian regime. This regime, which has killed tens of thousands of its citizens in recent months alone, which has always supported and organized wars in the region, and which gave Russia Shaheds and the technology for their production, has defined the attitude toward itself," the Ukrainian leader stressed.
He added that it is important to have a clear position supporting people and life, and for American determination to truly work for everyone in the world.
As previously reported, the United Kingdom will involve experts from Ukraine to help partners in the Persian Gulf shoot down Iranian drones, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated regarding the situation in the Middle East.
