Zelenskyy proposes several areas of further cooperation to former minister Klimkin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Pavlo Klimkin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2019, and proposed several areas for further cooperation.

“I discussed the foreign policy situation around Ukraine with Pavlo Klimkin, as well as certain decisions needed to strengthen Ukraine’s positions in Europe and other parts of the world. I am grateful to Pavlo for his work for Ukraine and proposed several areas for possible further cooperation,” Zelenskyy said on X.

From June 2014 to August 29, 2019, Klimkin headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in the first and second governments of Arseniy Yatsenyuk and in the government of Volodymyr Groysman.

From 2010 to 2012, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and from 2011, as Chief of Staff of the Ministry. He also led the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations for the historic Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. On March 30, 2012, he initialed the agreement with his signature. He was then appointed Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany, where he served until 2014.
