Draft law on CyberForces prepared for second reading – AFU General Staff

The relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military intelligence agencies have finalized the draft law on the CyberForces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the second reading.

"The draft law defines the legal and organizational principles for the formation of a military and technical organizational structure within the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to NATO standards, responsible for the cyber defense of the state, the protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity in cyberspace," the General Staff said on the Telegram channel.

According to the agency, the main tasks of the CyberForces will be: building up and effective use of cyber deterrence capabilities; conducting military cyber operations; gaining and maintaining an advantage over the enemy in cyberspace; weakening the enemy's capabilities through operations in the electromagnetic spectrum and cyberspace; protecting the information and communication systems of the defense forces.

It is noted that the institutionalization of the Cyber ​​Forces as a separate branch of the military will ensure consistency, centralized management, development of capabilities and increased efficiency of the state's cyber defense.
