Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine overnight on February 26 with 420 drones and 39 missiles of various types, including 11 ballistic missiles; most of the launched missiles were successfully intercepted thanks to air defense missiles from partners agreed upon during the latest Ramstein meeting, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

"Tonight Russia again fought against critical infrastructure and ordinary residential buildings. Four hundred and twenty drones, most of which were Shaheds, and 39 missiles of various types, including 11 ballistic missiles, were launched at our people. There is destruction in eight regions: many private and multi-story buildings were damaged. As of now, dozens of people are known to have been injured as a result of this attack, including children," he wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday morning.

According to him, strikes also targeted gas infrastructure in the Poltava region, as well as electrical substations in the Kyiv and Dnipro regions. Rescuers worked in the Chernihiv, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv regions, as well as in the capital.

"Most of the missiles launched today were successfully shot down because partners promptly sent a portion of the air defense missiles agreed upon during the latest Ramstein meeting. But, unfortunately, there were also hits. And this means we must continue to work even more actively. The cold has not fully receded, and air defense missiles are needed every day as long as Russia tries to break our energy sector. I thank everyone who understands this and helps," Zelenskyy said.
