Zaluzhny, Usyk, and Budanov top Ukrainians' trust ratings - Ipsos poll
Ukraine's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom, former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, tops the ranking of Ukrainian citizens' trust in public figures with a score of 63%, while 22% do not trust him, according to the results of a study conducted by the international research company Ipsos February 13-19.
Boxer Oleksandr Usyk and the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, who are trusted by 56% and 55%, respectively, and also distrusted by 22-23%, take the second and third places.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is trusted by 49% of respondents (he ranks fourth in this rating), while 38% do not trust him.
Vitaliy Kim, head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration (39% trust him, 29% distrust him), and Ihor Terekhov, mayor of Kharkiv (30% trust him, 25% distrust him) also have a positive trust balance. General Andriy Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, is trusted and distrusted by 26% of respondents, equally divided.
Other public figures mentioned in the study have negative trust ratings, meaning more respondents distrust them than trust them. The highest levels of distrust are among members of parliament: leader of the All-Ukrainian Union Batkivschyna Yulia Tymoshenko (70%, 14% trust her), leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko (63%, 24% trust him), and chairman of the parliamentary group Platform for Life and Peace Yuriy Boyko (62%, 8% trust him).
As part of the survey 2,003 Ukrainian citizens of voting age (18 and older), residing in government-controlled areas of Ukraine, were interviewed. No quotas were applied during data collection to preserve the probability nature of the sample. All adjustments were made post-factum through weighting. The margin of error does not exceed 2.2% at a 95% confidence level.
