First Ukrainian UAV manufacturing plant begins operations in the UK – Zaluzhny
The first Ukrainian defense plant has begun operations in the United Kingdom—a production complex belonging to the Ukrspecsystems company, whose drones have long proven their effectiveness in high-tech warfare, Ukraine’s Ambassador Valeriy Zaluzhny has said.
"Ukraine is fighting under conditions of constant missile strikes, infrastructure destruction, and threats to production facilities. Meanwhile, our engineers create solutions born directly from frontline experience. They improve systems not based on theoretical research, but on the results of real combat applications. Therefore, launching production in the UK has deep strategic logic. This is not a shift of the center of gravity away from Ukraine. It is an expansion of our joint capabilities and the creation of a second circuit of resilience that guarantees continuity of production," Zaluzhny wrote on Facebook.
He emphasized that the center of engineering expertise remains in Ukraine, while production is integrated into the British defense space. This creates a new quality of partnership, where allies not only support each other but also form a shared industrial security base.
"For Ukraine, this project signifies stability and the possibility of long-term planning. For Britain, it means strengthening its own defense industry, gaining access to technologies tested in modern warfare, and creating jobs. This is an example of how combat experience can be rapidly integrated into industrial solutions and one’s own security. Thus, this event is of not only economic or technological significance; it has a strategic and even civilizational dimension. We are effectively laying the foundation for a new architecture of European security," the ambassador concluded.
