Ukraine regains control over important positions in Stepnohirsk area

The Artan special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MO) is implementing a comprehensive operation in the Zaporizhia direction, during which, in particular, control was regained over important positions in the area of the village of Stepnohirsk in the Vasylivka district of Zaporizhia region.

"Special forces of the GUR MO conducted a series of successful offensive actions and continue active combat work in the Stepnohirsk area of the Zaporizhia region. During the operation, under conditions of complex logistics and constant attempts by the enemy to hold positions through ‘meat assaults,’ Artan fighters, in cooperation with other units of the Active Action Department of the GUR MO and the Defense Forces of Ukraine, regained control over important positions and significantly improved the tactical situation on the indicated section of the front," the message on the GUR MO Telegram channel states.

As part of the mission, advanced assault groups of the Russian army were destroyed, concentrations of enemy manpower and equipment were hit, and dozens of occupiers were eliminated.

It is noted that an important component of the special operation was the cutting of the enemy’s key logistical arteries by establishing fire control over them. Strikes on the logistics and communication nodes of the Russian occupiers currently make their assaults in this direction impossible.

"These active actions were conducted in close cooperation with other units of the Active Action Department of GUR and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. They allowed for the creation of a stable bridgehead for the further clearing of the settlement and the final expulsion of the enemy," said the commander of Artan, Viktor Torkotiuk, call sign "Titan."

He added that the goal of the Ukrainian defenders remains the elimination of the threat of an enemy breakthrough to the outskirts of Zaporizhia.
