Zelenskyy: European Commission to support repair of Ukraine's energy infrastructure and strengthening of protection before next winter
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen discussed a strategy to significantly strengthen Ukraine’s resilience during a meeting on Tuesday, February 24.
"The European Commission will support the repair of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and will help rebuild it and strengthen the protection of the energy grid before next winter. This is one of the most important results of our meetings yesterday, and its significance is hard to overstate, especially given Russia’s constant attempts to destroy normal life in Ukraine," Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel.
He noted that with Europe’s help, Ukraine will be able to ensure a reliable energy supply, decentralized generation, and the restoration of damaged facilities.
