UN General Assembly adopts resolution 'Advancing comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine' – Sybiha
The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution titled "Advancing a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has said.
"I welcome today's adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution 'Advancing a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine' initiated by Ukraine. At defining moments, the international community must be clear in its position. Today is such a moment. For us, this is not just another vote. It is confirmation that Ukraine is not alone – and that the principles of the UN Charter still matter," the foreign minister said on Telegram channel.
Sybiha thanked all 107 member states that supported the resolution.
"We will continue to act – firmly and consistently – to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. I am grateful to my deputy Maryana Betsa, the Foreign Ministry's Department of International Organizations and its director Serhiy Dvornyk, as well as Permanent Representative Andriy Melnyk and the team of Ukraine's Mission to the UN," the minister added.
