Zelenskyy: 'Very inappropriate' to discuss details mentioned by Zaluzhny, as it concerns the army
Today, it is "very inappropriate" to discuss the details mentioned by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny in an interview with AFP, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes.
"I simply believe that discussing the details Valerii Zaluzhny spoke about today is also very inappropriate. Because no one wins from this. After all, we are talking about our army," Zelenskyy said in an interview with AFP.
The President added that he had not spoken with Zaluzhny after the publication of his interview. Speaking about the political ambitions of the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the President noted that "one needs to focus on other things."
"Because, who said that I will definitely run in the elections? No one said that I will go, and no one said that I will not go, because there is a war going on. That’s the story. And we must end it with dignity. People will definitely react to everything and everyone there, judging by how someone lives, how they lived during this time, where they were, and what they did. In my view, that is the whole answer," the head of state emphasized.
As reported, on February 18, Valerii Zaluzhny spoke out for the first time about "deep disagreements" and "tense relations" between him and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Tensions arose shortly after the full-scale Russia invasion in February 2022, and disputes often flared up between the two men over how best to defend the country… Tense relations reached a climax later that year when dozens of agents from Ukraine’s internal intelligence conducted a raid on his office," according to the article featuring the agency’s interview with Zaluzhny.
