Ukraine’s army liberates 300 square kilometers from invaders – Zelenskyy

1 min read

Ukrainian defenders on the southern sector of the front managed to liberate a territory of 300 square kilometers from the Russian occupiers, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"I won’t go into too many details," Zelensky said of the advances, "but today I can congratulate our army first and foremost – all the defence forces – because as of today, 300 (square) kilometres have been liberated," Zelenskyy said in an interview with AFP.

The president did not specify the time frame over which the releases took place.

He added that Ukrainian forces are advancing in the south.

Ukraine is taking advantage of the disruptions to Russian Starlink terminals, he said, though Ukrainian defenders have also experienced outages.

"There are problems, there are challenges," he said, acknowledging that the setbacks faced by Russia are "much more serious."
