Flamingo cruise missiles hit Iskander and Oreshnik missile production plant in Udmurtia
Flamingo cruise missiles hit the strategic Votkinsk Plant, which produces Iskander, Topol-M and Oreshnik ballistic missiles, the enterprise is located approximately 1,300 km from the Ukrainian border, Militarnyi reports.
Military analysts at the portal reviewed footage of the aftermath, geolocated the blast site and confirmed that production facilities at the plant were damaged as a result of the Ukrainian strike, according to reports. They said Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles were used in the attack.
Local residents also published video showing a large fire on the plant’s grounds, the reports said. Additional photos released by residents showed blown-out windows in nearby residential buildings, suggesting the explosion was of significant force.
The outlet Militarnyi also reported, citing the Telegram channel Astra, that workshops No. 22 and No. 36 — where final assembly of missile systems takes place — were damaged in the strike.
Local authorities confirmed the attack as well. The head of the Udmurt Republic acknowledged damage and casualties "at one of the facilities," the outlet reported.
The Votkinsk Plant is one of Russia’s key manufacturers of solid-fuel ballistic missiles. The facility serially produces RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles, previously manufactured and continues to service missiles of the Topol family, and also produces RSM-56 Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
Meanwhile, a representative of FirePoint published video on X showing missile launches, writing: "Here’s a short video. No context. Context — to follow."
