Meloni reports ‘good’ work on security guarantees for Ukraine
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reported "good" work on security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as a "good" stage in work on Ukraine’s reconstruction and peace plan.
"The documents we are undoubtedly discussing include very good work on security guarantees for Kyiv, which, incidentally, as you know, follows from the Italian proposal to develop them along the lines of NATO’s Article 5. There is work on rebuilding Ukraine, which is also at a good stage, and there is a peace plan, which also includes many questions that have already been answered on paper," Meloni said in an interview with Sky TG.
She noted that the main issue—Ukraine’s territory—remains unresolved, emphasizing that she considers Russia’s territorial encroachments "absolutely unjustified."
"It is important not only to achieve peace, but also to achieve a just peace, because when international law is violated, a situation is created that can only become more chaotic, and such a peace does not serve our interests," Meloni added.
