Law enforcement officials prevented a series of high-profile murders ordered by the Russian Federation, including that of Andriy Yusov, the representative for strategic communications for the Main Intelligence Agency (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported.

"The network’s members operated under the supervision of the Russian Federation’s special services. They collected information on the movements, lifestyle, vacation spots, and residences of a certain group of individuals with the aim of organizing their preparation and subsequent assassination for monetary reward," he wrote on Telegram on Friday.

The victims were to be well-known people in Ukraine, including Andriy Yusov, representative for strategic communications of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense and deputy head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

It was earlier reported that, as part of Operation Enigma 2.0, the National Police of Ukraine detained an intelligence group that, according to investigators, was planning the assassinations of Ukrainian media and political figures on orders from Russian intelligence services.

"According to the enemy’s intelligence services, the purpose of these high-profile murders was to sow fear, demoralize society, create a sense of insecurity, and destabilize the internal situation in Ukraine," the department noted.

Seven people have been detained in Ukraine. In parallel, urgent investigative actions were conducted in Moldova, where three more individuals were detained—including the network’s organizer and two of his accomplices.
