SBU again hits Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in Russia's Krasnodar Krai - source
Drones from the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center struck the infrastructure of the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai for the second time in the past month, an SBU source told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
According to the agency’s source, this port is one of the largest in the Black Sea region and handles oil, gas, and ammonia.
"Its storage capacity for petroleum products and liquefied gas exceeds 1 million cubic meters," the source explained.
"Local residents reported a series of explosions on social media overnight. A drone attack resulted in a fire at the oil transshipment complex," the agency’s source said.
He recalled that the previous attack on the terminal occurred on January 22 of this year. Back then, SBU drones damaged process pipelines on the berths, as well as several vacuum gas oil and fuel oil tanks. Estimated losses amounted to approximately $50 million.
"The SBU is systematically targeting facilities that generate significant revenue for the Russian budget, which is then channeled into the war effort. This concerns energy and export infrastructure, without which it is more difficult for the enemy to finance military operations and maintain its logistics," a source in the SBU concluded.
