Sybiha: Ukraine will be ready to deploy its troops to other geographic regions in future
A number of partner countries from Europe and elsewhere have confirmed their readiness to deploy their troops to Ukraine after the ceasefire. Ukraine, in turn, will be prepared to deploy its troops to other regions of the world in the future, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha emphasized at the discussion panel "Focus on Security Guarantees for Ukraine" at the Munich Security Forum, which began on Friday.
"The presence of troops on the ground is an important part of future security guarantees, as well as for business opportunities. Having a presence on the ground also serves as a deterrent, a guarantee for future investors, and an incentive to invest in Ukraine. Therefore, we have also received confirmation from some European capitals, and not only European capitals, of their readiness to deploy troops on the ground," Sybiha said.
According to him, this will happen after the ceasefire is reached. "I don’t know whether this concerns a peacekeeping mandate or a peace monitoring group, because that’s still in the process. But we need this presence in Ukraine. Ukraine is also ready to deploy its armed forces to other geographic regions in the future," the minister added.
