Five Ukrainian children returned home from the temporarily occupied territories and Russia, among them a seven-year-old boy who was deported from Kherson children's home during the occupation of the city, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets has said.

"We also managed to return a four-year-old boy and his six-year-old sister, who were kidnapped by the occupiers from the children's home as infants; their mother had not seen the children for four long years," he said in Telegram channel on Friday.

Lubinets also told another story. About a nine-year-old boy who ended up in Russia with his mother, who died there from a serious illness. After the grandfather's unsuccessful attempt to take the child away, the boy was finally returned to Ukraine, where his uncle will take care of him.

According to the Ombudsman's Office, a total of 1,985 children have already returned since the start of the full-scale invasion of the Homeland.
