Kherson CHPP is again under Russian shelling for the second day in a row, the Naftogaz group reported on Thursday.

"For the second day, the plant is being attacked by drones of various types. There is new damage," the company noted.

Currently, due to the constant threat of repeat strikes, it is impossible to fully assess the scale of destruction.

"Together with local authorities and the government, the company is doing everything possible to provide people with heat under current conditions," Naftogaz emphasized.

As reported, citing Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Serhiy Koretsky, Kherson combined heat and power plant cannot operate in normal mode due to strikes inflicted by Russian aggressors, of which there have been more than 10 since the beginning of 2026 alone.

"Kherson combined heat and power plant is again under Russian shelling — artillery and drones. More than 10 targeted strikes in two days this year. This morning — another attack. Four hits," he wrote on Facebook on Jan. 2.

In turn, on January 26, Russian forces purposefully shelled Kherson combined heat and power plant with artillery and drones around the clock.
