Zelenskyy: Patriot missiles should be provided ASAP to protect energy infrastructure
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following the results of the night when the enemy massively attacked the energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipro, in particular with ballistic missiles, stressed the importance of supplying missiles to the Patriots as quickly as possible, the most effective means of combating ballistics.
"Repair teams and rescuers have been working at the sites of Russian strikes since last night. In total, there were 219 strike drones during the night, a significant part of them were Shahed UAVs, as well as 25 missiles, 24 of them ballistic. Most of them were neutralized, but, unfortunately, not all. As of now, it is known that two people died as a result of this attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than ten people were injured," Zelenskyy said on Telegram on Thursday.
According to him, the main target of the enemy strike is the energy sector in Kyiv, Odessa and Dnipro, generation and substations. "There is damage in the Kharkiv region, Donetsk, Kyiv and Kherson regions. In Kramatorsk, a drone hit the building of the State Emergency Service. The situation in the capital is difficult: many houses remain without heat," the head of state noted.
"There should be more protection of life from these strikes. It is the Patriot (missiles) that work most effectively against Russian ballistics, and the supply of missiles to these systems is needed every day. Thank you to all the countries that are filling the PURL program. Everything that is currently in the air defense program should arrive faster," Zelenskyy emphasized and expressed gratitude to the partners who "understand this and help."
