Ukrainian Red Cross warns about fraudulent Telegram channel
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) publishes information about assistance programs only on official resources, the organization reminds.
“A fake channel ‘EnergoSupport from the EU’ was created on Telegram, in which people are asked to fill out a short questionnaire to collect personal information. Then, Ukrenergo and the Ukrainian Red Cross are supposed to pay support. This is fraud! The Ukrainian Red Cross has not published such ads and does not register for this assistance,” the message posted on the official URCS Facebook page on Wednesday reads.
The Ukrainian Red Cross always reports on programs and cooperation officially. Up-to-date information about aid programs is published only on the official resources of the Ukrainian Red Cross, in particular on the website redcross.org.ua and on official pages on social networks.
“If you come across suspicious information, please let us know at: [email protected] or call: 0 800 332 656,” the Red Cross said.
