Poroshenko calls European Parliament's decision to provide Ukraine with EUR 90 bln extremely important
Ukrainian lawmaker and European Solidarity party leader Petro Poroshenko called the European Parliament's decision to approve a mechanism for the European Union to provide Ukraine with EUR 90 billion in credit support in 2026-2027 for defense and budget needs critically important.
"Thank you to our friends in the European Parliament and the traditional leadership role of the European People's Party in ensuring key decisions for Ukraine. Every 'military' euro of the EUR 60 billion must be directed toward effectively strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine, our strategic resilience, victory over the aggressor, and not into the pockets of corrupt officials and their patrons. Every 'budget' euro of the EUR 30 billion must go to support Ukrainian business and restoration of our infrastructure and economy, and not populist electoral projects," the European Solidarity leader wrote on Facebook.

"We must accelerate work on implementing clear conditions and reforms, including strengthening democratic governance and democratic institutions, the rule of law and the fight against corruption. As a patriotic, democratic, European opposition, we will carefully monitor both the implementation of European criteria and the effective use of assistance from Ukraine's friends and allies," the party leader said.
