Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) Maksym Dotsenko and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha have discussed assistance to communities and children.

"During the meeting, the parties focused on the practical results of already implemented humanitarian initiatives and further expansion of cooperation in the context of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine," the URCS reported on its official Facebook page.

Among the key areas of discussion was the rehabilitation and recreation of Ukrainian children abroad. This primarily concerns children of military personnel, deceased and missing defenders, as well as children from front-line regions.

With the assistance of the URCS, last year, more than 700 children were able to undergo rehabilitation and rest outside Ukraine. At the beginning of 2026, the first trips of children already took place, and the program continues to expand. In the near future, it is planned to organize a holiday for children from regions that are under constant shelling, in particular Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed supporting the energy sustainability of communities and assisting the population in the winter.

A separate vector of dialogue was the prospects for the development of humanitarian cooperation outside Ukraine.
