Zelenskyy, Moldovan PM discuss cooperation in energy, infrastructure, joint progress toward EU

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu, during which, in particular, they discussed cooperation in the energy sector, infrastructure projects and joint progress toward the European Union

The president also thanked for the support of Ukraine during the full-scale Russian invasion, in particular for the assistance to Ukrainians who found temporary shelter in Moldova.

"Your political support is critical, we are grateful for the support for our territorial integrity and sovereignty. I believe that we have a common view on membership in the European Union in the future, and I hope that we will have a common path," the President's Office said, citing Zelenskyy.

During the meeting, the leaders paid special attention to the energy infrastructure of Ukraine and Moldova, especially the consequences of Russian shelling, which led to power outages in a number of Moldovan cities as well. Zelenskyy and Munteanu discussed responding to threats from Russia and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.

In turn, the prime minister assured of further support and announced the government's decision to provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid, including generators and medicines.

The parties also discussed the next joint steps on the path of the countries' membership in the European Union and the importance of simultaneously opening negotiation clusters.

In addition, they discussed joint projects in the economy, defense production, as well as in the areas of transport and infrastructure.
