Midas Operation case not over, working with Israel, other countries on extradition of suspects – NABU chief
Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies will work with law enforcement agencies in Israel and other countries on the possibility of extraditing suspects in the Midas case to Ukraine, National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) Director Semen Kryvonos said.
"Regarding the extradition procedure. Indeed, it is ongoing. This is quite a lengthy process. When all measures regarding the possibility of sending an extradition request are completed by us, we will send it, including [to Israel]. And we will work with Israel, with other countries on the extradition of suspects in this case," Kryvonos said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, answering a question about whether requests to Israel are planned in the Midas case, specifically regarding businessman Tymur Mindich.
"We expect new details. We will communicate with Ukrainian society. We are just trying to be careful now, at this stage, in our communication - this is related to certain aspects of evidence collection, conducting relevant examinations, receiving responses from international jurisdictions, and communication with international partners," the NABU director explained.
In this context, he assured: "But this is definitely not the end of this case. The investigation continues and there will be additional details that we will share when it becomes procedurally possible."
