Russian attacks leave 95,000 without electricity in Odesa region

More than 95,000 people in 42 settlements in southern Odesa region have been left without electricity following enemy strikes on energy infrastructure, Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper has reported.

"Last night became another ordeal for the south of Odesa region. As a result of cynical enemy strikes on energy facilities, over 95,000 people in 42 settlements were left without power," he wrote on Telegram.

The most difficult situation is in Kiliia, where more than 200 buildings housing 9,000 people have no gas or centralized heating. Heating there is only possible with electricity. Without power, this means thousands of cold homes.

The State Emergency Service is already sending to the south of the region: 7 powerful generators to support critical infrastructure; 8 heat guns for rapid heating of premises, as well as 5 field kitchens. Additionally, 10 aid points will be deployed. If necessary, the volume of assistance will be increased, Kiper reported.

Points of invincibility and heating are operating in each district. They have backup power, hot tea and people who can provide assistance.

Emergency restoration work is ongoing. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore heat and power to people as quickly as possible.
