Svyrydenko: Govt allocates UAH 231 mln to complete construction of school shelters in 11 regions
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has redistributed UAH 231 million in subsidies to complete school shelter construction in 11 regions – 22 projects are at least 60% complete, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced.
"We have decided to reallocate UAH 231 million in subsidies to complete school shelter construction in 11 regions. The government is allocating funds to 22 projects that are in the final stages and at least 60% complete in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Kherson, and Khmelnytsky regions," she wrote on Telegram on Monday.
According to her, this will allow construction to be completed this year and provide safe offline or blended learning conditions for 10,000 Ukrainian children in schools, military lyceums, naval lyceums, and lyceums with enhanced military physical training.
"Education security is a government priority. That's why we've allocated UAH 5 billion in this year's state budget for school shelters, primarily in frontline regions. We're doing everything we can to ensure children can return to in-person learning as quickly as possible where the security situation allows," the prime minister emphasized.
