Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrsky stated that in January, the total losses of the enemy significantly exceeded the volume of its replenishment – almost 32,000 people against 9,000 "this trend must be continued and strengthened."

"The Armed Forces of Ukraine stabilized the situation on the front, stopped the enemy, effectively destroyed its personnel and equipment. The total losses of the enemy in the first month of the year amounted to 31,700 people, which is 9,000 more than the volume of its replenishment for the same period. This trend must be continued and strengthened," he said in the Telegram channel on Monday following the results of the combat work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January 2026.

According to him, "during a frank conversation, we analyzed the status of the implementation of combat and operational tasks, including repelling enemy air strikes, manning and supplying our troops, conducting engineering and fortification work, maintaining the state law and order in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, etc.," Syrsky provided statistical data on the results of January 2026.

"In January, 48 fire missions were carried out by DeepStrike means to destroy the oil and gas industry of Russia. As a result, the total oil refining in Russia has decreased by 19%, or 53.4 million tons per year," he said.

Air Forces: carried out 80 air strikes, strike UAVs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out more than 300,000 special missions. As a result of the strikes on enemy airfields, the use of enemy-guided bombs decreased by 5%.

Air defense work: despite the existing shortage of means of destruction, in January the air defense forces destroyed 21,700 air targets and 21,600 UAVs of various types of the enemy.

"Despite four years of full-scale war against a superior enemy, the Ukrainian army is holding its ground and continues to reduce the number of the Russian aggressor group. I am sincerely grateful to our soldiers for their resilience, professionalism and dedication," Syrsky said.
