The European Union Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernová, welcomes the appointment of Natalia Boyko as interim head of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine.

She wrote about this on social network X on Monday.

“As Ukraine's energy system remains under attack; stable & transparent leadership of key state-owned enterprises strengthens resilience and security,” Mathernova noted.

As reported earlier today, the Supervisory Board of GTSOU LLC appointed Boyko, former deputy head of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, as acting CEO of OGTSU. The Supervisory Board made this decision at its meeting on February 7, 2026. By previous decision of the Supervisory Board, Boyko had been appointed to the OGTSU directorate as deputy CEO.

The current board of directors of the society includes Natalia Boyko, Vladyslav Medvedev, Borys Liubych, Kateryna Kovalenko and Oleksandr Timofeev.

As the GTSOU noted, Boyko has had over 15 years of professional experience in the energy sector. In addition to her position as Deputy Head of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, she also served as an advisor to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Energy Reform's sources noted that after Shmyhal's appointment as Minister of Energy, he considered Boyko for the position of Deputy Minister of Energy, but she declined the offer.

A few days ago, Boyko announced her resignation from the Naftogaz Supervisory Board.
