Zelenskyy: Moscow must be denied ability to pressure Ukraine with cold weather; calls for Patriot, NASAMS, other missiles
Over 400 drones and about 40 missiles of various types were used by the enemy to attack Ukraine last night, the key target is the power grid, generation and distribution substations; to protect Ukraine, missiles for Patriot, NASAMS and other systemes are needed, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
"More than 400 drones and about 40 missiles of various types were involved in this attack. The key target is the power grid, generation and distribution substations. There is damage in Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne regions. A high-rise building was damaged in Rivne. In Ladyzhyn in Vinnytsia region, drones hit the administrative building of an ordinary agricultural college. There were also strikes in Kyiv and Kharkiv regions," Zelenskyy said on Telegram channel.
Air defense forces continue to operate in some regions. Wherever the security situation allows, rescue and repair work is ongoing at the sites of Russian strikes, the president said.
He also stated that "every day Russia can choose real diplomacy, but it chooses new strikes."
"It is important that everyone who supports the trilateral negotiations react to this. Moscow must be deprived of the opportunity to put pressure on Ukraine with the cold. This requires missiles for the Patriot, NASAMS and other systems. Each party helps us get through this winter. Thank you to all partners who understand this and really help," Zelenskyy said.
