Syrsky: In certain front sites, quarter of fighting made up of offensive actions by Ukrainian units
The enemy continues offensive operations along the entire line of contact with varying intensity, while in certain sections of the front, a quarter of the fighting consists of offensive actions by Ukrainian units, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky stated during a meeting with journalists on Thursday.
The commander-in-chief noted that the active front line is approximately 1,200 kilometers long. The depth of combat formations continues to increase. The development of unmanned systems is leading to combat formations expanding not along the front, but deeper into the kill zone, reaching 15-20 kilometers.
According to Syrsky, the enemy's force strength has remained roughly constant over the past six months—711,000-712,000 personnel, including the operational reserve. At the same time, the occupiers have fully met and even exceeded their troop manning targets.
"This indicates that their level of losses exceeds their ability to replenish them," Syrsky said, adding that on average, the enemy loses about 1,000-1,100 servicemen daily.
At the same time, as the commander-in-chief noted, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are also actively conducting offensive and counter-offensive operations.
"In some areas, about a quarter of combat clashes involve offensive actions by Ukrainian units. Their goal is to keep the enemy under constant pressure, inflict losses, and prevent them from advancing. This tactic is producing results," Syrsky stated.
He noted that the enemy did not achieve any significant operational successes in January.
