UAE MFA: Second round of talks between Russia, Ukraine, and USA seen as ‘positive signal’
The second round of trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in Abu Dhabi demonstrates the parties' seriousness in advancing diplomatic efforts and is a "positive signal," said UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He stressed that holding the round in the UAE is an important step that demonstrates international confidence in the UAE's role: "His Highness stressed that the UAE's hosting of this round is an important step that demonstrates international confidence in the UAE's role in facilitating dialogue and promoting diplomatic solutions to crisis situations, particularly on this issue, where there is broad international consensus on the importance of a comprehensive and sustainable settlement."
The minister added: "The two rounds of talks held in Abu Dhabi led to productive and constructive discussions that identified common positions that can serve as a basis for further progress."
According to him, the UAE continues to support efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution to the "crisis" and emphasizes the importance of cooperation and solidarity in challenging times.
