Russian strikes knock out power in 4 regions, weather cuts off power 34 settlements
As of the morning of February 5, as a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, consumers in Zaporizhia, Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv regions were without electricity, Artem Nekrasov, First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, said at a briefing on Thursday.
"Hourly power outage schedules are in effect throughout the country, as well as capacity limitation schedules for industry and business. Due to the difficult situation in the power system, emergency power outages are being forced in some regions," he noted.
In addition, more than 34 settlements in Kyiv, Odesa and Ternopil regions remain without electricity due to difficult weather conditions. Regional energy company teams are working around the clock to restore damaged lines.
