Zelenskyy: Number of brigades working to eliminate the consequences of shelling will be deployed in Kyiv
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a daily conference call on the emergency situation in the energy sector after the Russian strikes on Wednesday.
"In Kyiv alone, more than 200 brigades are currently working, and, according to the report of the Ministry of Energy, the number of brigades will be increased to ensure the rotation of brigade workers - people are exhausted. More than 1,100 apartment buildings in several districts of the capital are without heating, and for each such building there must be an answer with a clear deadline for the restoration of heat supply and guaranteed provision of people with heating and support capabilities," Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
According to him, the most difficult situation as of Wednesday is in Kyiv and the region, in Kharkiv and the region, as well as in Sumy and Poltava regions. "It is also difficult in other regions of Central Ukraine, in particular in the Dnipro and Cherkasy regions," the president added.
During the call, the conditions for protecting Zaporizhia from drones, the supply of interceptor drones, and the availability of trained crews were also discussed. Zelensky gave separate instructions on this to the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoly Kryvonozhko and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
In addition, there were reports on Kharkiv and the provision of communities in the region, on the situation in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv regions, in the cities of Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy and Poltava regions, in Kherson, Odessa and the region, in the Donetsk region, in Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi regions, and in Zhytomyr region.
"I instructed the Prime Minister of Ukraine to prepare specific data for this evening on the volumes of necessary additional support for Ukrainians in communities throughout the country," he said.
