Pension payments for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and social benefits have been unblocked, Member of Parliament Iryna Gerashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, has said.

"Today, at the request of the opposition factions, European Solidarity, Vice Speaker Olena Kondratyuk, within the framework of the conciliation (council - IF-U) had a tough conversation with the Minister of Social Policy Denys Uliutin and the head of the Pension Fund (Evhen Kapinus - IF-U) regarding the glaring situation... with the payment of IDP pensions," Gerashchenko said.

She recalled that the government, by its resolution, forced all IDPs to be verified in order to avoid abuse and receiving pensions from the Russian Federation. Gerashchenko also noted that, in addition, the government transferred the administration of payments from social workers in the vertical of the Ministry of Social Affairs - to the Pension Fund, which lacks the people and qualifications to process such a mass of papers.

"As a result, more than 300,000 pensioners were left without payments in January, and mothers of young children and large families also have problems with payments," the MP emphasized.

According to her, until today, Resolution No. 299 suspended the payment of disability pensions, pensions for the loss of a breadwinner (including children of deceased servicemen), pensions for old age, pensions for years of service. In addition, payments for insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases, and monthly lifelong cash support were suspended.

"Thanks to the prompt response of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets and the opposition, these payments have now been unblocked," Gerashchenko noted.

As reported, the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) will resume payments to pensioners from temporarily occupied territories (TOT) and internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have undergone physical identification, Minister of Social Policy Denys Ulyutin announced.
