Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the receipt of another batch of 31 generators from the Warsaw mayor’s office and municipality. The total number of power supplies donated by the Polish capital has reached 90.

"The first batch of 59 power supplies arrived in the Ukrainian capital last Friday. The city received a total of 90 generators from the Polish capital. Most of them are diesel-powered, with capacities ranging from 10 to 64 kW. The first batch of generators was immediately delivered to several districts of Kyiv to power equipment in buildings experiencing problems restoring heat," Klitschko wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.

He reported that the day before, he had appealed to international partners for assistance in Kyiv’s response to the emergency, and Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski himself had called him, offered assistance, and arranged for the prompt dispatch of equipment.

"Thank you to the Mayor of Warsaw and our Polish friends for this desperately needed assistance during the energy crisis. We expect the next shipment of generators, purchased with Polish donations, to arrive soon. Last week, Kyiv received the first shipment from Poland – 130 generators of varying capacities, funded by Polish volunteers. In 10 days, 60,000 Poles donated nearly EUR 2 million," Klitschko said.
