Government forms commission to investigate causes of road accident in Chernihiv region

The Ukrainian government has formed a commission to investigate the causes of a road accident in Chernihiv region, in which 14 Russians were killed and 29 injured.

"A government commission has been formed to investigate and determine the causes and circumstances of the accident. Regional Governor Volodymyr Khomenko, the head of the Interior Ministry’s office in the region, Oleksandr Mykhailyk, and the head of the Emergencies Ministry's territorial department in the region, Volodymyr Mukha, have left for the scene of the accident," reads a statement posted on the Web site of Chernihiv Regional State Administration on Saturday.

As reported, a bus carrying a group of Christian pilgrims from Velikiye Luki, the Pskov region of Russia, to the Pochayiv Monastery in western Ukraine overturned on a highway between Chernihiv and Kyiv in the north of Ukraine early on Saturday. Fourteen people were killed and 29 others injured in the crash.
