Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych said he would make up his mind on the language bill after the bill's in-depth analysis and experts' assessment.
"I will fully use all of my powers as president that are applicable to this issue. Only after I study these issues will I have the right to express my view and to decide," the presidential press service quoted Yanukovych as saying after he met with the parliament and faction leaders on Wednesday.
It was reported that on Tuesday Verkhovna Rada voted for the bill on the foundations of the state language policy significantly broadening the use of Russian language.
The parliamentary opposition claims the language bill was passed on July 3 with multiple violations.
Soon after the vote, a protest began outside the Ukrainian House in Kyiv, which gathered around 700 people. Clashes occurred between protestors and law enforcers on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
