Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has invited the leadership of the parliament and parliamentary factions for a meeting to discuss the situation in the Verkhovna Rada due to the events at the parliamentary sitting this morning, the president's press secretary, Darya Chepak, told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The president called the leadership of the parliament and faction for 1130," she said.
"In connection with this, the president's press conference was postponed until a later time. The time and the date will be announced later," Chepak said.
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn and Verkhovna Rada Deputy Chairman Mykola Tomenko resigned this morning.
