Ukraine, Russia to implement program to reduce cost of new regional An-148

Ukraine and Russia will ensure the implementation of a program to reduce the production cost of the An-148 new generation regional jet aircraft.

The implementation of the program was discussed at the 10th meeting of the subcommittee on cooperation in aviation industry of the committee on economic cooperation of the Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission in Kyiv on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine learned at the press service of the Ukrainian State Agency for State Corporate Rights and Property Management.

Chairman of the State Agency Dmitry Kolesnikov, who headed the Ukrainian part of the subcommittee, said that Ukrainian scientific institutions prepared a report on the way to reduce the cost of production of the An-148 aircraft.

They are also working on the program of improving fuel efficiency of the An-148, he said.
