Germany opens door towards Euro 2012 quarter-finals, says Germany coach

Coach of Germany's national football team Joachim Löw has said that the defeat of the Netherlands opened the door towards the quarter-finals for his team.

"I think that by this victory we've opened the door towards the quarter-finals. It was very hot and it was difficult to keep the pace during the match. The Netherlands attacked in its own style, but we did not let them produce many moments," the coach said at a press conference after the match v. the Netherlands in Kharkiv.

Löw added that his players knew the rival's weaknesses in defence and used them.

"In this group of death we've gained six points in the matches against very strong teams – this is really important," the coach stressed.

On the results of two group matches, Germany leads Group B with six points. Denmark and Portugal have three points each. The Netherlands team has not got points yet.
