Andriy Shevchenko presents 6-year-old fan with Ukraine team's T-shirt
Ukrainian football player Andriy Shevchenko has presented a six-year-old fan, Tymur Shamanov, who has become the hero of the most popular online video, with a T-shirt of Ukraine's team.
"We saw your emotions when the second goal was scored. Good for you! Support Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!" Shevchenko said while handing the T-shirt over to the boy, after a training of the national team in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Tymur became the instant face of victory for Ukraine as he held up the national flag, his mouth agape in a cry of delight when Shevchenko scored the second goal in the match against Sweden on June 11. One of Ukrainian TV channels has presented the boy with a ball signed by the players of Ukraine's team.
Later, some media reported that Tymur is a son of an independent people's deputy Valeriy Shamanov.
On June 14, Ukraine will depart for Donetsk to play France and England there. In its first group match, Ukraine defeated Sweden 2-1 and led Group D.
