People's Party of Ukraine to run for parliament only in single-seat constituencies, says Lytvyn

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn has said that representatives of the People's Party of Ukraine will run for Ukraine's parliament only in single-seat constituencies.

"The People's Party, which I represent, will take part in the elections, but only in single-mandate constituencies," Lytvyn announced on the First National Channel on Wednesday.

The politician said that he did not accept the principle of elections via party lists.

"We have and will have problems as long as we have such a principle of formation of the Verkhovna Rada," the parliamentary speaker said.

Lytvyn is the leader of the People's Party of Ukraine.
