Ukraine could help Serbia modernize its military aircraft
Ukraine is examining the possibility of developing its military and technical cooperation with Serbia.
The issue was discussed by the Ukrainian and Serbian sides during a meeting at the EUROSATORY 2012 international defence exhibition, which will be held in Paris until June 15, the state company Ukrspecexport told Interfax-Ukraine.
"During the talks between representatives of the state company and state-run Ukroboronprom with officials from the Defence Ministry of Serbia, the Serbian side expressed interest in using Ukrainian aircraft repair bases for Serbian air force. The sides also raised the issues of the modernization of Serbia's military helicopter arms with the participation of the Ukrainian defence-industrial sector," the state company said.
During the negotiations, the Serbian side also took interest in Skif portable antitank guided missile launcher, which was exhibited on Ukraine's stand at the EUROSATORY 2012 exhibition.
According to the state company, during EUROSATORY 2012, the Ukrainian side also discussed cooperation in the sphere of repairs and modernization of military helicopters for Croatia.
"At a meeting with the Croatian side, the issue of supplies of spare parts for aircraft was also raised," the state company said.
